On a Friday night every room is full by nine, and the door keeps hearing the same question: how long is the wait? Without a list the answer is a guess, and groups who don't want to stand at the counter head somewhere else.
With bavoli, walk-in groups join the list from their phone and wait at the bar until the text arrives. Birthday parties and office groups book a room ahead from your booking page, and every room sits on a floor plan so the front desk sees which are free.
If you serve food and want bavoli's restaurant menus and online ordering too, pick restaurant when setup asks what kind of place you run. The waitlist and room bookings work the same way either way.

Groups pick a date, a start time and a group size. You set the smallest and largest group, how far ahead they can book and how many groups can start in each time slot.
A walk-in waitlist by QR code
Put the QR card at the door and on the bar. Groups join from a phone with no app to download.

One tap sends it. On Free the first 25 parties each month get texts, Plus texts up to 500 and Pro up to 1,500.
Rooms on a floor plan
Add each room as a table with the number of people it seats, so a group of 10 goes to a room that fits 10.
No-show fees on Plus
Hold a card on online bookings and charge a flat no-show fee only if the party doesn't come, so a party that never shows pays your fee for the Saturday room it held. Needs Plus and a connected Stripe account.
Birthdays and occasions
Groups can pick an occasion when they book, and you can add your own, such as a bachelorette party or a team night.

Guests add a card when they book online, and bavoli places a hold on it for the no-show fee you set. The fee is one flat amount per booking, and it is charged only if the group doesn't show. To keep it to groups, set the smallest party that can book online to your group size and let smaller parties walk in.
What bavoli doesn't do for a karaoke venue yet
bavoli runs the room bookings and the line. These stay with your other systems:
- It doesn't price rooms by the hour, take deposits or set a minimum spend. The no-show fee on Plus is one flat amount per online booking.
- Groups can't pick a specific room or choose how long they book it for. They book a start time for their group, and the desk assigns the room.
- Start times run every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, and bavoli doesn't block a room for the length of a session. For two-hour sessions, allow about half your rooms to start in each hourly slot so bookings never outnumber free rooms. The per-slot limit goes up to 20 groups.
- It doesn't connect to your song system or your bar tabs.
- Some guest screens still use restaurant words. The booking page and the waitlist status page say "table" and "host stand" in places.
Frequently asked questions
How do I keep bookings from outnumbering my rooms?
Set how many groups can start in each time slot, up to 20. If sessions last an hour, match it to your number of rooms. If they last two hours, allow about half your rooms in each hourly slot. The same number applies on every day you're open.
Can walk-ins wait at the bar?
Yes. They join the list from the QR card or the link and watch their place in line on their phone. The desk texts them when a room is ready.
Can I take a deposit for birthday parties?
bavoli doesn't collect deposits up front. On Plus ($30 a month) or Pro, once you connect a Stripe account, you can protect birthday bookings with a card hold instead. Guests add a card when they book online, and bavoli places a hold on it for the no-show fee you set. The fee is one flat amount per booking, and it is charged only if the group doesn't show. To keep it to groups, set the smallest party that can book online to your group size and let smaller parties walk in.
Should a karaoke bar that serves food sign up as a restaurant?
Choose restaurant during setup if you want restaurant menus and online ordering, and add your menu there. If you only want room bookings and the waitlist, choose "Studio, club or walk-in venue with tables" and setup skips the menu steps.
How are texts counted?
By party. A room booking or a waitlist entry is one party, and it counts once a month however many texts it gets. Free texts the first 25 parties each month, Plus up to 500 and Pro up to 1,500.
